.
Even if one runs swiftly one’s past conduct will follow, being asleep and active at the same time as oneself. Like a constant shadow, a man’s past conduct remains still when he stops, moves when he moves and acts when he acts.

– Bhishma, 7-8.174 Santi Parva, Mahabharata

Our good and bad actions are part of our very beings. They are like our shadow and define who we are. Each act is like a scare on our conscious, good or bad. This can be seen in a very practical light, if I think about stealing a wallet, the next time such an opportunity occurs I am more likely to do it. Hence we should cultivate good thoughts, action and Karma.

Dedication
May my mind, actions, and intentions be pure for the cultivation of goodness.
